Source of funds checks for UK players
Why is a source of funds check needed?
All UK retail and online gambling operators are licensed and regulated by the Gambling Commission. That means we’re required by law to take steps to help ensure gambling remains fair and open, is not linked to crime, and does not lead to harm.
We know this process can be inconvenient. But just like banks and financial websites you would use, we have this legal obligation and we’ll do our utmost to help you through the process. It really does take only a few minutes to complete.
What is a source of funds check?
A source of funds check is exactly what it sounds like. You simply send us one or two documents to prove your salary and/or other income showing that you can afford the money you are spending with us.
Why are you checking my source of funds now?
Just like banks, after customers spend a certain amount with us, we’re obliged to check where the funds they’re using come from. Of course, we know that this is quite an inconvenient request, but it’s aimed at protecting you, our customer.
What’s in it for me?
Firstly, by providing source of funds documents, you’ll be able to continue enjoying all our products, services and bonuses. If we contact you to request these documents: after we’ve checked and approved them, we’ll credit your account with £1,000 in cash to say thank you for your time and effort.
When will I get the £1,000 in cash?
We’ll credit the money to your account as soon as we’ve successfully completed the source of funds check. You must have sent genuine documents to show that you can afford what you spend on gambling and that the money has come from legitimate sources.
Are there any strings attached to the payment?
No, it’s a cash payment. There are no turnover requirements whatsoever.
What kind of documents are needed?
Any documents that prove the origin of the money you use to bet with us will be sufficient, from a copy of your monthly payslip, or bank statements issued within the past three months to proof of inheritance or property sale. Other accepted documents include an annual tax return, evidence of dividends or director remuneration, or proof of a specific payment or reward you’ve received.
How do I get my documents to you?
You’ll need to email copies of the relevant documents to firstname.lastname@example.org or you can use the onsite document uploader whilst logged in.
How long do I have to supply the documents?
Once we request source of funds documents, you’ll have a maximum of 14 days to send them to us.
What happens then?
We’ll review the documents and once we’ve confirmed that everything’s in order, you’ll be able to carry on as usual.
Please note that we might need to request further documents.
How will my information be used?
What happens if I don’t get the documents in on time?
If you don’t manage to send over the requested documents within the 14-day time limit, we’ll unfortunately be forced to apply certain restrictions, such as putting a monthly deposit limit of just £50 on your account.
